Course Description
START (OS Landranger Series Sheet 89 Grid Ref NY 175304) in crossroads on A66 leading to Embleton. Head west over the first Cockermouth to the second Cockermouth roundabout junction with the A595 to Carlisle (4.5 miles).

Encircle the roundabout and retrace along the A66 past the HQ and on south east to the Keswick roundabout (18.3 miles). Turn left on to the A591 and head north until T-junction at Castle Inn (25.1 miles). Turn left on to the B5291 and go over Ouse Bridge. Once over Ouse Bridge turn right (if anyone has ridden any of the laps of Bassenthwaite Lake they will be used to turning left here - this right turn and extra loop is needed to get the additional miles in for the 100) on to unclassified roads and proceed along this road until T-junction with old A66 (27 miles) where turn left and go through Dubwath to T-junction where turn left to rejoin A66. Proceed south east along A66 to Keswick roundabout for 2nd time (35.1 miles). Encircle roundabout and retrace along full length of A66 to second Cockermouth roundabout junction with the A595 to Carlisle for 2nd time (49.2 miles).

Repeat the above circuit around Bassenthwaite Lake via Keswick roundabout twice and back to Cockermouth roundabout for third time (94 miles). Encircle roundabout and retrace along A66 to FINISH at west edge of lay by used as HQ (NY181305) (100 miles).

HQ Description
Lay by on north side of A66 (right hand side when heading east) just before third turn off on to Embleton Road (old A66) over weak bridge (NY181305).
