Course Description

Official CTT Course Description

START (OS Landranger Series Sheet 89 Grid Ref NY129292) at the painted mark on the kerb against drain at east end of the first lay-by to the east of Simonscales Bridge over the A66. This lay-by is 0.75 miles from the roundabout junction with the A5086 Cockermouth/Egremont road. Proceed from the start along the A66 in an easterly direction to the A591 Keswick/Bothel roundabout junction (12.1 miles). Encircle roundabout and retrace along the A66 to the roundabout at the Cockermouth/Egremont junction(24.8 miles) where turn left taking the A5086 Egremont road to FINISH (NY115293) beyond entrance to The Sheep Centre at painted mark in line with large A5086 sign (25 miles).

HQ Description

The HQ has traditionally been at the Lakeland Sheep & Wool Centre. However, it has been moved a few times in the past to Embleton Village Hall. For open events check your start sheet and for club events give yourself time to check out both locations if you need to.

NOTE - To avoid parking fees at the Sheep and Wool Centre we are going to use Eaglesfield Village Hall as headquarters. The hall will be open from 6pm until 9-ish. Tea and cake will be on offer.
