Course Description

START (OS Landranger Series Sheet 89 Grid Ref NY129292) at the white line on kerb against drain at east end of the first lay-by to the east of Simonscales Bridge over the A66. This lay-by is 3/4 of a mile east of the roundabout junction of the A66 with the Cockermouth/ Egremont road. Proceed in an easterly direction along the A66 to meet the A591 Keswick/ Bothel roundabout junction (12.1 miles). Encircle roundabout and retrace along the A66 to the roundabout at the Cockermouth/Egremont road junction (24.8 miles). Encircle roundabout and proceed through the starting point and continue along the A66 to the A591 Keswick/Bothel roundabout junction (37.5 miles). Encircle roundabout and retrace along the A66 to FINISH approx. 100 yards east of Simonscales Bridge at mark on roadside in line with metal plate in verge 25 yards west of overhead cables over A66 (50 miles) (NY124293).

HQ Description

The HQ has traditionally been at the Lakeland Sheep & Wool Centre. However, it has been moved a few times in the past to Embleton Village Hall. For open events check your start sheet and for club events give yourself time to check out both locations if you need to.
