A 0.8 mile hill climb on unclassified road.

Course Description

From the B5291 road to Castle Inn, take the Setmurthy road travelling west towards Cockermouth. From the entrance of the road leaving the triangular island, past two weight restriction triangles to the start which is after the bend and 0.1 miles from junction at a Gated entrance to field and opposite the High Manor property.

Start is alongside the red reflector post at fence.

Proceed westwards up the hill past entrance to Higham Hall and past the cross roads to finish 25m beyond the gate and stile to the Elva stone circle path (on right).

Finish is adjacent to the second tree on left after the gate. total distance 0.8 miles.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE DON'T TURN ROUND AND RIDE BACK DOWN THE COURSE. Instead, from the finish, continue W towards Cockermouth and take the next L, down past the golf course (BEWARE - steep descent) and L again along the old road from Cockermouth, through Embleton, and make your way back to the HQ. It's safer and you'll warm down nicely, too. See, we try to think of everything!
